Located on the campus of Academy of Art University, Academy of Art University Automobile Museum houses one of the most precious car collections estimated of $70 million by Forbes.

The first rock of the collection was laid by Richard A. Stephens, the former President of Academy of Art University, who had a great love for cars. Having started assembling the collection of unique and rare automobiles Mr. Stephens tended to establish school of automotive design where students could master practical skills. So the museum serves both functions - showcases the automotive history and provides the solid platform for practical classes at the industrial design department at the Academy of Art University.

The half of the collection is privately owned by Mr. Stephens. He and his family, in particular Stephens's daughter Elisa Stephens started amassing classic cars in 1990s with the purchase of a 1929 Packard.

In 2016 Dan Stoner from Hemmings Motor News named the museum “one of the largest collections of antique cars on the West Coast.” The museum’s highlights are the Tucker 48, filmed in 1988 Tucker: The Man and His Dream and the 1933 Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow, one of the two remaining.

The proceeds from the museum go to both the Rotary Club and the Boys and Girls Club.

The admission to the public is by appointment and at the scheduled time.
