Norway is a great country. The Norwegians are kind people, who you can always relay on. The downside is the pretty unstable weather, which can give cold and wet summers as well as warm and boiling temperatures.

Be prepared and bring both your tent and credit card. Then you are ready for any weather condition, as it is hard for me to see the fun being in a tent when it is pouring down. Then the hotel room is a better choise.

The motorcycle tour does not really invite to high-speeding cornering, but to take it easy and enjoy the hair pin roads and the ferry tour.

There are plenty to see if you will like to go for a walk, as there are stoning view from “The Pulpit Rock” 600 meter above sea level or the “Kjerag” which are 1 000 meter above sealevel. There are a healthy long walk to the places, but those who been there claim it is worth it. At least you are worth to spend a shower on afterwards, as it will make you sweat.

Lysebotn – a scenic motorcycle ride in Norway

Lysevegen Road

In this area of Norway, there are not pleanty of roads, so it is hard to miss this place. Start here, and take it easy. The hairpin road is build in the 1980’s and due to the harsh winter weather, it is closed during winter. So, do not get stock on the wrong side of the gate…

Lyseboth Cafeteria

This is a great place to make a stop, and enjoy the view. The view is far better than the coffee…. Despite the poor coffee quality, there is a queue to get some. It might be that motorcyclist cannot make a stop without either coffee, ice cream or some fried food.

Lysefiord Boat trip

The Lysefiord is approx 40 km long, and you will make stops on the way for seight seeing from the ferry, and there are also two stops where you can get on/off. The fiord is up to – or rather down to – 422 meters deep, so do not drop your helmet over board as you might not see it again.

Lysefiord Ferry

You can get off several places, but as soon as you are outside the fiord, the tour is in reality ended. The rest is transport, which might as well take place on the motorcycle.
