This is a very nice route which is mostly wooded and hugs the Lake Michigan shoreline for most of the trip. On this route there are many scenic overlooks and vistas. Many nice small towns on bays and inland lakes, farms, wineries, ski slopes, and be sure to stop in Interlochen, Beulah, Frankfort, Elberta, Manistee and Ludington. This is a great route to take if you are headed west on Lake Michigan taking the Badger Car-ferry to Manitowoc, WI.
If you do go, be sure to bring 2 tie-down straps or you will be required to purchase them at the docks, and they can be a bit pricey.
