Frank Mason, an engineer in retirement, founded the Vintage Motorcycle Museum in 1979 in Chehalis, Washington. The core of his collection are pre-1916 motorcycles including such brands as Harley-Davidsons, Indians, Pierces, Yale, Thor, Excelsior and many others which are original or fully restored. In addition the exhibition includes photographs of the period, memorabilia and bicycles, the most distinguished of which is an example of the first American made bicycle from the 1800's.
The collection is now located in 1889 Washington Hotel building that was renovated after the fire in 1997.
The museum is open 9am - 1pm Tuesday - Friday.
